Outstanding Webley Pryse revolver retailed by John Rigby London
This Webley Pryse revolver in calibre 450/455 was retailed by John Rigby & Co and has no serial number and is suspected to be a commissioned presentation piece. The leather case with the Rigby trade label is named to G Smyth Coldstream Guards. He later became a Lieutenant Colonel in the Guards, retired in 1887 and died in 1935. There is some family history accompanying the case and his name and Regiment is engraved on the butt strap of the revolver. He was the last Squire by descent of Heath Hall Yorkshire. His full name was George John Fitzroy Smyth. This is an outstanding looking revolver in 95%+ Condition. The top strap of the barrel is marked with the Rigby name and there are proof marks on the cylinder and frame. The revolver is mechanically perfect and it would be very difficult to find a better example.
